Certain images swapped in interlaced mode only

Postby drwr » Sat Jan 25, 2014 7:37 pm

Occasionally, an image will be rendered left/right reversed--but only in interlaced mode. In anaglyph mode or any other mode, it renders correctly. For instance, see http://phereo.com/image/52deddc6cb8577eb7900007e (which renders correctly in windowed mode, but reversed in fullscreen mode), or http://phereo.com/image/52dedc41cb85776079000074 (which renders reversed in both windowed mode and fullscreen mode).

These are the only images in this album that render incorrectly. Other images in this album render correctly in all modes.

Of course I can click the "Swap" button to reverse the left/right images, but that is just a workaround for an obvious bug. I shouldn't have to reverse the images for just these two particular photos while stepping through the album.

I don't know what's unique about these photos. Perhaps they have an odd number of rows? It's difficult to tell the image size from the web interface or from Phereoshop (I don't see an interface to show the image size anywhere, in fact).

It looks to me with my interlaced screen, that all full screen images are swapped. Ill try to explain.

in windowed mode with my glasses on, the images are correct, if i switch to full screen they are reversed (with no way to flip them)

however if in windowed mode i press swap so that the images are displayed incorrectly, then go to full screen, the full screen images are now the correct way around.

slightly different to the above issue, but possibly related

thanks

Are you sure? In windowed mode, the alignment depends on the placement of your browser window on the desktop--if you shift the window one pixel up or down, it will reverse the images. So maybe you just happen to have the browser window on an odd-numbered pixel row, which is why the behavior is different for windowed mode vs. fullscreen mode? But since all of your images are the same, you might just need to swap it once and be done, and that's normal and expected behavior (not all monitors agree on whether the odd rows should be for the left or the right eye).

By the way, you can press the "x" key to swap the eyes in fullscreen mode.

I see the same thing....windowed vs fullscreen is always swapped on my LD D2542P 3D monitor in interlaced mode.

The X key does work to swap it.

I think this may have come up about a year ago and the swapping may be a 'feature" of LG 3D monitors. (Or I may have that completely wrong....)

Have you tried moving the window one pixel up or down on the screen? That will reverse the images. It's just the way passive screens work.

However, none of this has to do with the problem I described in the original post, which is that certain images are incorrectly rendered by phereo.com in full screen mode. That problem still remains. Is there any feedback from the Phereo development team on this issue?

Thanks!

I've now come across a particular photo that always seems to be reversed in both windowed and fullscreen interlaced mode (but is *not* reversed in anaglyph or parallel or any other mode).

No other photos are reversed like this, so it's not a window alignment issue. Only this particular photo is affected in this way. I've tried uploading slightly different versions with different pixel crops and different alignment shifts, but the issue remains in all versions of this one particular photo. I have no idea what it is about this particular photo that causes this issue.

Here's the five different versions of this photo I uploaded, all of which are strangely reversed in interlaced mode only:

For comparison, here's a different photo that works correctly:
