Why does my username show up as a long number and not something coherent?

Is there any way that I am able to change it?

No, this feature is available for all users.
Please don't worry about it - 404 error will occur only if other people will click on your external link (phereo.com/537ba517df7df3d60b000000) from not Phereo site!

Is it possible / allowed to change the real name in something more anonymous?
I remember at registration, real name was mandatory. But now I see many users with nick names
