File list won't refresh for upload

I took a 3D image from my LG 3D Max and emailed it to my Nexus 5 (which had more battery). I then downloaded the *.jpg attachment and renamed it as *.jps. But the Phereo app (v3.2.3) sees the file list in the download folder and has retained the *.jpg version of the file name. I can't make it see the *.jps file that now resides there. When i try to access it (the *.jpg version 'phereo' view of what is now the *.jps file)for upload, the Phereo app aborts / crashes. Instead of just changing the file extension, i also renamed the file to "x.jps"....and Phereo still can't see the renamed file. I rebooted the phone. No change.

Why won't the phereo app refresh the view of the \sdcard\download folder?

It is best not to use a standard file explorer. For these purposes, I recommend using EX Explorer app.
I have Nexus 5 too and I was able to do your trick

Thanks. You're right. I just used ES File Explorer instead.
