The "Light16" camera looks promising. https://light.co/camera

It's actually 16 cameras in one camera. It won't ship for another 5-6 months. But it looks like an interesting camera. It can take 3D photos as well as photos that have many different depths in the field of view.

Here some more info

So it can overcome HDR, selective DOF, selective zoom (and selective parallax in case of 3D, or even a vertical 3D shot!) all at once in one multishot!

I only fear for the fact that there is a glass cover over all the lenses, making them prone to glare and inner reflections easily.
I also don't know what lenses are going to be used for creating 3D as none of the lenses are placed in a straight horizontal or vertical line. It looks like the different lenses are placed totally random in the prototype.

It would also be awesome if you could use it for filming in the same way.
Now i always struggle with a too wide spacing, like in the Fuji W3 when filming inside, or a too small spacing when filming outside with a htc evo 3d.
At least 4 lenses filming on a row, horizontally, or vertically, when filming vertically, would overcome also that problem then.

Fingers crossed this ever ships.

It looks like some of these crowdfunded camera efforts may fall short of actually delivering a camera. Probably not for lack of trying.......but in the end it will either ship or it won't....and then you hope is isn't a buggy, defective mess.

The joys of supporting niche product development. :-)
